Shopping

Dan and I went Holiday shopping last night and neither one of us yelled or lost patience. I think we might be done shopping for family gifts now and have started some ideas for friends. Dan's fave moment was sitting in Barnes and Noble, drinking his half caff. and listening to Hannukah music. I kid you not, they were playing actual Hannukah music. Dan said, "Now I'm beginning to understand why [they play all that Holiday music]."

We ate at CPK and also discussed my fave topic of finances. What a lucky man Dan is to be married to someone always thinking about how to retire early. Dan did bring up a good point though. If I retire early, where will the health insurance come from? So, I need to have twice as much in savings to also afford private health insurance. Great.

In other news, I still want to be like everyone else and not a drug dependent chronically ill person. No big change there except that I'm making my peace slowly with my new transplant lifestyle since I'll live most of my life with this lifestyle.

I'm thinking of a career change too. Bedside nursing is very nice and fulfilling in many ways. I really do feel like I make a difference. Too many MD's are saying that I am cerebral lately. Some of them are a little puzzled that I chose nursing because it is a little instinct driven. Some are appreciative that the person caring for their patients is thinking of more than a paycheck and that I look for interdisciplinary solutions. We'll see what happens.

I still love our house. I was telling Dan that I'm glad we are not completely furnished yet because the house still feels new to me. It is nice that nothing is set in stone. I think that the bedroom color really needs to change because it is just too pink so it will be a dreamy blue soon and then we can decorate our bedroom with wood furniture. Hooray! We saw a neat piece in the Pier One catalog yesterday.

Lastly, Dan tells me that McCain might run for president. I actually like him. I feel that he is honest and really tries to do what is best for America. Now if only he'd agree to a woman's right to choose.

Re: Shopping

If you'd like to ask McCain about his stance on abortion, I'm sure he'll be appearing at Bob Jones University again sometime soon.
